Here are my own top 20 tips that you must know before level 20! The tips in this series of posts are a bit more in depth, so I had to break it out into 4 parts.

6. Turn on the ability to see quests, and sort them by distance
You may already know that grinding mobs gives you more xp than turning in completed quests. But grinding mobs gets boring after a while so why not do some quests along the way?
For my leveling toon, I only care about Combat and Exploration/Trade quests so I have those toggled on so I can see them.
I don’t do all the Trade quests but picking up Exploration quests usually guides me to a new area, and if you like a somewhat linear questing progression (aka “MMO on rails”) then I would turn these on because I found that it lead me to the next pack of orange/red-level mobs to grind in.
If you’re only interested in grinding, I high recommend this video for grinding locations:
7. Orange dots on the mini-map are for quest objectives
8. Quest: Alfredo’s Revenge
This quest took me a while to figure out. You need to interact with 2 objects: a flag pole, and a large painted rock.
Alfredo wants to spoil the Goblins’ flags with the Fresh Wolf Blood.
9. Some quests, like certain dailies, are shared among your alts
As someone on reddit commented:
Daily boss quests from Black Spirit are shared, as well as town dailies. Daily money quests (from spirit) and story quests are not shared.
10. Turn on your pet’s special abilities
Not only does your pet loot for you, but did you know that you can turn “on” your pet’s special abilities? For example, my dog’s special ability is to detect hostile enemies around me. I can turn that detection on so I get alerted while he’s out.
Did these tips help you? Can you help me, and take this quick poll — how do you prefer to consume this type of content (like tutorials, tips, and how-to’s)? I’m thinking of doing video guides but I myself prefer reading articles like this that I can just skim over. Let me know what you think!
